Slytherin - We also passed around a pledge sheet for everybody to sign for the GROW campaign. The purpose of this pledge was just to raise awareness for the scarcity of food in our world.

There are enough resources present on this earth to be able to feed all of its inhabitants, yet there are still people that go hungry simply because they cannot afford to buy food.

If you signed it at the meeting, I have already entered your name! We also discussed Welcome Month to raise awareness for our club to the incoming freshmen.

We are no longer able to do the movie marathon night because of the aforementioned cost of the rights. Instead, we talked about holding a trivia night like we did at BearCon or pushing our campaigns at more tabling sessions.

We also discussed getting involved with Operation Military Support to help send care packages to our troops overseas. We still need a Harry Potter-y sounding name for this campaign!

If you did not attend last weeks meeting and have any food allergies, please let us know for our records! We would love to surprise you guys with some goodies sometimes, but we want to be sure we can bring things that everybody can have!

Email phpateam gmail. Please come because we want to see your smiling faces! This will be our last "official" meeting as the meeting on May 3rd is now a semi-formal.

We would like everybody to EITHER dress professionally or in a nice costume because we would like to get a group photo! The Leadership Conference registration is due this Friday.

If you may be interested in going and do not have a prior obligation to another club, please email me or mention it in meeting tomorrow!

We have two interested already. Please remember to read the section on the duties of the e-board members in our constitution to be sure you are really interested in taking the position!

Because we have been invited to the Leadership Conference as a fully recognized SGA club, we are also going to have a booth at the Carnival during Welcome Week at Maxcy.

We were thinking of holding Scene-It Trivia for tickets to enter into the raffle and making either an "owl" or a "pygmy puff" to take away from the booth, because everyone remembers the booths you get free stuff from!

We voted that we would like to wait until everything dies down with other clubs to schedule our interest meeting for next semester. Many of us felt that it can be overwhelming to have them all scheduled at once, so tabling will work just fine for promoting our club for the first two or three weeks of the semester.

We also voted that we would like to keep the Forum Room. Look out for the date and time for next semester and we will try our hardest to get the same room!

We would also love it if you guys promoted us to all of your friends next semester! We would love to see this club expand and grow and new people bring new ideas!

We talked about how we wouldn't hear about our constitution until after break, which worked out perfectly.

A couple days ago we received an email from our President Elect that he was able to finish our constitution over break!

We are attending assembly right before the meeting on the 19th and we will tell you then how it goes. We have now reached 13 members!

We have only 2 meetings left and 3 more tabling sessions so make sure to show up and fulfill your requirements! The Alliance held a Livestream that talked about partnerships.

We introduced the idea of partnering with different groups to help get support for our own campaigns, show our ability to work with others, and get our name to different audiences.

There was also a chapter newsletter released. Email me if you would like to view a copy of it. Our Jar Wars effort is going very well! If you would like the house standings, email Katie Graham at grahamkr potsdam.

Our Hunger Games campaign is coming to a close very soon. We have 10 of you interested in going to a grocery store to collect more food but only one car, so we are still working out the kinks there.

We held a vote about which grocery store to go to and Walmart won. We send a warm thank you to those that came to the movie night.

It went very well! Pictures will be posted on the website as soon as I get them uploaded on my computer! The Alliance wants us to move onto a "Wizard Rock the Vote" campaign.

We voted that we do not want to do this with them because our campus has already held elections and we would rather devote the time to extending our HINAG campaign to try and collect some more food.

Instead, we are going to start planning a "Support Our Troops" campaign to raise supplies for care-packages to send over seas. We need a cool Harry Potter related name to go with the campaign, so any ideas are welcome!

We will be opening our next semester with a book drive, called Accio Books! We discussed collecting books either for hometowns, for other countries, or for local areas.

Talk to libraries and schools in your hometown to see if there is a need for books. The 15 minute play at the Spring Arts Festival will be held after Springfest.

We still have an open invitation to come table and they are willing to give us a plug if we go. Email if you are interested! Next semester, we will be switching meeting times to every week to try and keep things consistent and make us more accessible.

We will not be holding elections this semester because everything is still getting established, but we will be establishing a Leadership Committee.

This will be an elected group of people who will "shadow" the e-board to learn how to perform the duties.

This group will not guarantee an e-board position but will make it easier to get elected and will teach you everything you need to know about running e-board.

Email me if you are interested in running! We want to remind people to remain active in their communities over the summer!

Keep the magic of Dumbledore's Army rolling! Bring some of the good you have been doing here back home! We will have our next meeting on the 19th!

Hope to see you there! Hey guys! We welcomed more new members! We are currently up to 6! Helps us break ten and come to tabling and other events!

We have a few members that only need to come to an event to reach full member status! Email me if you would like to know if you fit this list.

We found out that our Constitution will be put on hold for the elections and budgets. We were promised that it would be done by the end of the semester.

We are going to change the membership requirements to two meetings instead of two consecutive meetings. We also wanted to give a big thank you to anyone who participated in the panel and a special thank you to Kim Wilcox for volunteering her time to help create trivia questions.

We kicked off the Hunger is Not a Game campaign! We are collecting for the Neighborhood Center! Ask everyone you know and bring your non-perishable foods to meeting!

We will also be tabling every Thursday and occasionally on Wednesdays, so look for us in the Union with a collection bin! They are also looking for items like peanut butter, jelly, and milk cards so that they can provide lunches for children over the summer.

As a reminder to everyone: we are going to be helping at the movie night this Friday. They want us to meet early, so be there at about 8 pm and come in costume!

We were invited to attend the multicultural weekend that the college holds for prospective students. Rachel was also wondering if anyone was interested in assisting her with creating fliers for around campus.

Anyone who is can email to let us know! See you all on the 5th! Hey Guys! Sorry for the late minutes everyone! I went home over the weekend and grabbed the wrong red folder, so I did not have my notes.

We had a very productive night. We are on our way to have our constitution ratified and become a fully recognized, SGA approved club.

We won't have a budget for another year, so be sure that you keep that in mind when suggesting events and fundraisers for us to do. We can put in a request for funds to SGA, but we need sufficient time to argue our case, so plan ahead and suggest it to us early for anything big you might want to do!

Our lovely Vice President, Rachel Daley, was introduced. She gave a short introduction about herself and suggested that anyone interested should approach her with poster ideas.

We introduced our Jar Wars fundraiser. Be sure to look for us in the Union and bring change to the meetings! Any coins including dollar coins add to your house point total and any bills subtract half of their value from the total for example, a dollar bill would subtract 50 points from the total and a 5 dollar bill will subtract points from the total.

We will have a poster up with the rules if you need further explanation. We will be tabling every Thursday 11 to 3. Remember, this counts as an event towards your membership!

Anyone who can buy a t-shirt and some fabric paint to bring in to decorate, let us know. We are planning on having a "Decorating Party" to make up for the fact that we cannot afford to buy t-shirts in bulk for everyone.

We discussed the panel available at Bear Con over the weekend where trivia, games and a Jeopardy game were available. Congratulations to anyone who could attend and I hope you had fun!

There will be 50 free wands given out, so show up early to receive yours! They want us to hold an event. Anyone with ideas please email me and we will vote at our next meeting.

We are NOT allowed to do fundraising because it is advertised as a free event. We also discussed our new Hunger Games campaign.

For anyone who has friends interested in the Hunger Games, tell them about us so they can get involved! We will be holding a food drive to collect food for local food pantries.

We will be setting up tables at local grocery stores and in the Union, so watch for us. We will send out emails with tabling dates once we get the ball rolling.

This week is International Women's Week. Be sure to wear a ribbon or other special symbol to celebrate a special woman in your life!

Small "geek" sidenote: J. Rowling is publishing a new book! She says it will be geared towards and adult audience and will be nothing like Harry Potter, but she enjoyed writing and misses it.

We also had a special guest who spoke about a Harry Potter play that will be held in April as a senior project.

He is interested in interviewing some people about their interest in Harry Potter and wants us to come to the play dressed in our Harry Potter garb.

Any one interested in giving an interview should email me back and I'll get in contact with him for you. Thanks and we will see you on the 22nd for our next meeting!

Have a good break! The meeting went well. I apologize greatly to those that may have wanted to come but didn't remember.

I will send out a reminder email for the next meeting to give everyone a head's up. First things first, we welcomed a new Vice President this past week.

Karissa, unfortunately, was unable to continue to help us, so we recruited Rachel Daley to take her place. We opened by going over Robert's Rules.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us. We decided that we would be tabling every Thursday from to raise awareness for the club. Katie talked about the fact that she is going to have to plan out a budget when the constitution passes, so she is encouraging anyone to come forward with ideas.

The more tentative things we have planned, the more SGA will see that we are committed to sticking around campus and they will be more likely to approve our budget.

We welcomed our first full member today! If you come to two meetings and participate in one event and tabling counts , you qualify for membership of the club!

We decided against getting t-shirts until we get a budget. Anyone who is interested, we will have a meeting dedicated to t-shirt decorating as long as you bring your own t-shirt and fabric paint.

If anyone is interested in Relay for Life, please email me. There was a strong lean towards the Quidditch World Cup because the Relay for Life is themed "Around the World" already, If anyone has any other ideas that they think will work, then we are happy to hear it, just send us an email!

We will be starting up our Jar Wars at tabling next week. Look for us in the Union to give your House points! If anyone has an idea for fundraising at the movie on March 30th, we would love to hear it!

Just a reminder, show up early because they only have a limited number of wands to give out! Our next meeting is March 1st at 8 o clock in the Forum Room!

I'll send out an email reminding everyone a couple days before! Potsdam Harry Potter Alliance. Search this site. About the Harry Potter Alliance.
